GOLD & GLORY FLASHPOINT 2:
Again, regarding Holy Spirit relationship…
Point 1… is the “all-important-hunger-for-God” issue. Hunger is not a one-time prayer and faith issue. No, every time we reach out to Holy Spirit our first words should always be asking the Lord for more spiritual hunger for the Lord Himself! Now, let me mention briefly the other four ingredients needed to find and cultivate a personal relationship with Holy Spirit.
Point 2… is for us to start a conversation with Holy Spirit. Certainly it seems strange to just talk to the Lord when He is not physically with us. It is not ridiculous to talk to the Lord in our hearts since we know Holy Spirit lives in our born-again human spirits. Ask Holy Spirit to help you…and just open your heart to Him and talk about the issues of your life to the Lord. In time Holy Spirit will start responding and you will begin to hear Him speaking to you in your heart. This is the moment that starts the fellowship between you and the Lord. His voice in your heart is not natural or audible, but after a while your spirit will begin to pick up His words in your heart. From then on, the relationship will develop into strength and hearing Holy Spirit clearly… but it requires time and continual fellowship with the Lord.
This is Point 3… which is to experience the developing of your newfound Holy Spirit relationship with the Lord. Always start your day with fellowship. You may be rushing to get to work, but you can drive in your car and commit the day to the Lord. Ask Him to take charge of your day and lead you into all truth for your life for the day ahead. Once you give Holy Spirit charge of your day, you will often times see how He would bring order and success to the events of the day.
Point 4… is about listening. Through time as you hear the Lord’s voice in your heart, it is very important to listen carefully to anything the Lord may speak to you in your heart. Write these things down and continue looking at the things the Lord spoke to you in time to come. This is how you will begin to see the plan of the Lord for your life… so important!
Finally, Point 5… Once the Lord has given you direction and wisdom, you will know personally what to do and how to respond to the Lord’s leading and guidance. Then it is time to respond! Be careful to act on the Lord’s instructions once you see them clearly. Do not hesitate or try to figure out what you need to do in your head. Obey the Lord even if it is something small and almost insignificant. Then step out by faith and act on the conviction of God in your spirit! Holy Spirit will strengthen and empower you with even stronger faith and spiritual conviction of the truth.
