The Joy Set Before Us!

The Apostle Paul speaks about the Lord Jesus in Hebrews 12:2, which delivers a powerful message for us as the Church today. Paul talks about Jesus being the “author” and the “finisher” of our faith. Jesus initiated our faith when He died for us BEFORE the foundation of the world!

Jesus personally introduced faith to mankind when He came to Abram as Melchizedek and offered him bread and wine, which represented salvation through bread and wine becoming the sacrificial elements of His body and His blood. The bread and wine that Jesus (as Melchizedek) offered Abram were the symbols of the sacrifice of salvation.

At that time, the bread and wine represented Jesus’ death for us on both occasions of His death: firstly, before the foundation of the world, and secondly, in the future, on Calvary in the year A.D. 32.

GOLD & GLORY FLASHPOINT 1:

• Aside from being the “initiator” of our faith, Jesus is also the “finisher” of our faith, as we see here in Hebrew 12:2. Until today, all people who die in Christ experience Jesus as the “finisher” of their faith when they leave the earth and go to heaven. This is such a wonderful and miraculous experience, as death itself has no sting when Christians pass away. They enter eternity and heaven and so they shall be with the Lord forever!
• Today, we know and understand that we are THE final generation of the Church Dispensation (Dispensation 7). Since we are living in the 75th year of the final generation, we need to know and understand that Jesus will be the “finisher” of our faith in the MOST unique way—differently from every Christian who has passed away and gone to heaven. Jesus, Himself, will personally become the finisher of our faith when He steps on the clouds of glory to receive us! Yes, indeed, the Rapture is THE moment that Jesus will personally become the “finisher” of our faith, shortly. This is SO amazing and is SO different from every generation of Christians before us!
• The pre-tribulation Rapture of the Church is THE event that Jesus will use to personally become the “finisher” of our faith. Yes, He will do it personally when we see Him in the clouds coming for us with great GLORY!
• We will meet Him in the clouds…and at that very moment when we see Him, face to face, on the clouds of GLORY, while still hovering over the earth…YES, it is THE very moment that Jesus will become the “finisher”
• of our faith and billions of Christians will become the end-time harvest of the Lord. What an amazing event this will be, not only to experience the greatness of the Rapture but also to finally then stand with Jesus in the clouds – even as we see Him at that moment as He will then become the “finisher” of our faith!! Glory to God!

• Paul continues to say here in Hebrews 12:2 that Jesus “endured the cross,” which was something no man could ever imagine or understand. We can form a mental picture of the pain of His suffering, as He was beaten, tormented, and nailed to a cross. However, we cannot understand the agony of what Jesus suffered for us physically, much less can we ever relate to what he suffered for us spiritually on the cross, carrying in Himself all the curses of sin, bearing all our sicknesses and infirmities—and finally, being separated from Father and Holy Spirit for having become the totality of sin on the cross!
• Nevertheless, the pain of His spiritual death by being separated from the life of God that was in Him, and also He was separated from Father and Holy Spirit, representing an agony we could never imagine! Thank God we will never EVER experience that agony. And so, Jesus did this all—enduring the cross and afterwards enduring 3 days and 3 nights in hell.
• Then Paul continues to say in this same verse that Jesus was able to “despise” the shame of what He went through by redeeming us on the cross. He totally despised it all! The Greek Bible says that by despising all the shame, Jesus simply counted the shame as “nothing.” Although it was so horrific personally and spiritually, Jesus counted all of that as nothing!
• Again we find the answer here in Hebrews 12:2 — He did this ALL for the JOY that was SET BEFORE HIM! The JOY, yes, the JOY. What JOY? The JOY of being reborn in hell when the price for sin was paid. Also, the JOY of tearing hell apart, taking the keys of hell and death, and rising victoriously, firstly from hell, then secondly, He rose in the resurrection of a new body for Himself for all eternity!
• But all in all there is yet so much more JOY for Jesus…
  • • the JOY of showing Himself to Mary Magdalene in the Garden,
    • the JOY of presenting Himself alive to His disciples and friends, as well as to all those who saw Him alive from the dead, including Jesus showing Himself to 500 men at one time!
• This was the JOY of Jesus for the 40 days He was alive on the earth after His resurrection. But the JOY continues! There is the JOY of Jesus’ ascension and returning to the throne of the Father. No one can imagine the GLORY that Jesus received from His Father when He returned to the Throne Room!
