The Cry for God’s Refreshing Rain!

Living in the modern world of the 21st century often leads us to take many conveniences for granted.

In the early days of Israel, God’s people had to learn how to construct large reservoirs and massive containers to serve as a reliable water supply for everyone.

GOLD & GLORY FLASHPOINT 1:

• Today, we can easily turn on the faucet in our homes, enjoying a steady flow of water. We have access to hot water, cold water, and water for showers or baths. However, none of these domestic conveniences were available during the early history of  Israel. In contrast, the agricultural industry, once a powerful and prominent force even here in America, is not as influential today. Living in the modern world of the 21st century often leads us to take so many conveniences around us for granted.
• In the days of ancient Israel, heavy large rain showers initially posed challenges of the people to contain and conserve the water. However, the fields and vineyards were positively affected by the blessing of rain. Yet in those early days, God’s people had to learn how to construct large reservoirs and massive containers to preserve the water supply for everyone around.
• During the early years of the 20th century, approximately 80% of Americans worked on farms. Agriculture was the number one industry in those early days. Presently, the situation is quite the opposite. We have developed numerous inventions, industries, and business structures which are able to meet all the demands for our diverse economic needs nationwide. Living in modern American cities, where convenience is often just a push of a button away, we tend to overlook the early days of the 20th century and the fact that agriculture was, at times, a matter of life or death for the nation.
• In the same primitive environment of the ancient past, God first began to promise Israel the blessing and the provision of RAIN. This rain was a pure blessing for all living beings, including animals and the crops of the fields. Today, we simply grab a glass of water, drink a soda, or even casually share beverages at an office party after a week of hard work. Numerous formal drinking facilities are available everywhere, offering literally hundreds of alternatives to a simple glass of water.
• In our modern society, we often take water for granted, as it is readily available everywhere. While our contemporary mindset regarding the importance of water is greatly convenient, it can also be deceptive. In ancient times, Israel learned the hard way that the water of the land comes from God, not from a municipal water department. God’s RAIN was delivered in the wonderful blessing of fresh rain falling from the skies. Instantly, the dry land would come alive; everyone would rejoice, and both people and animals would rush to the waterholes and rivers, now glistening with the freshness of NEW RAIN!
• Rain, in addition to being the most essential source of life, was a phenomenon created by God to be watched, appreciated, and enjoyed. Rain also produced  the blessings of harvests, including fruits, wheat, and barley. Furthermore, the abundance of rain transformed the landscape into a green and lush environment that was beautiful to behold, and it provided joy for everyone.
• Then, in time to come, God began to prophesy a different kind of rain to the Israelites. No doubt, all of the people loved everything about the blessing of natural rain. The prophets, however, began to talk about a rain that does not originate from the earth but from heaven—a rain that cannot be seen with the eyes but can be profoundly felt in a tangible and powerful way.

• Several prophets throughout the Old Testament began to prophesy different prophecies regarding the abundant spiritual rain that God would pour out on His people. This outpouring was for the purpose to refresh them, allowing them to TANGIBLY EXPERIENCE GOD, and to be FILLED WITH HEAVEN’S RAIN, which would quench the deep thirst of the human heart. This spiritual thirst is something people could not even realize beforehand! Personally, we are all unaware of spiritual thirst in our natural man. You do NOT detect or feel a thirst for spiritual rain in your spirit because your eternal spirit does NOT pick up anything through your five senses. Yet, there is a thirst in your spirit that cannot be naturally felt through the senses.
• After His resurrection, the Lord Jesus continually promised His disciples of the forthcoming outpouring of spiritual rain. The prophet Joel promised the RAIN of HOLY SPIRIT to be poured out at DIFFERENT TIMES, with the early rain occurring in Jerusalem on the first day of Pentecost following Jesus’ ascension to heaven.
• Since 1900, God has poured out the LATTER RAIN of His Spirit during the latter rain season of the Church. From 1907 to 1987, we distinguish a complete 80-year cycle of continual outpourings of Spirit rain across the globe. The 20th-century outpourings of the latter rain refreshed God’s people, transformed nations, prevented further destructive wars, safeguarded the nation of Israel, and devasted Israel’s Arab enemies in the Middle East.
• On the other hand, the work of God’s Spirit, in conjunction with the outpourings of the Spirit, has produced numerous miracles throughout the turbulent 20th century. Although the FINAL great global outpouring of the Spirit on all flesh has not yet materialized, nevertheless, God’s Spirit has taken control of the United States and has begun to RESTORE our nation since our President took office on January 20. Most of the incredible things which Holy Spirit is presently doing behind the scenes are NOT YET VISIBLE to us but are NOT mistaken! Powerful and shocking results will soon MANIFEST in great power all across the USA! AND THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING!
• At this very MOMENT, the Church has a golden opportunity to join the journey of this new Golden Age of America. The prophets of ancient Israel would cry out to the Lord and constantly call upon God, pleading for the rain to come! At times, they would do so during the midnight hours as they would walk on top of the security walls surrounding and protecting the city. Late into the night, the prophets would cry out to God, and at different times during the night, some of the Israelites would wake up and hear the lengthy lamentations of the prophets of the Lord who sought to touch the heart of God.
• Today, it is time for the  church in America to climb up to the walls of protection and security around our nation; these are the spiritual walls of God. We ought to do this in the Spirit, and we should begin to cry out to the Lord for showers of refreshing rain from heaven.
• The latter rain and the outpouring of spiritual rain of God today should no longer be ignored or just referred to in a Bible class. We should do more about calling for the rain of God than just mentioning it once or twice in church on Sunday morning. There is a DEEP CRY in the heart of Holy SPIRIT; Lord, please deposit this passion of the Spirit into our inner-most being, YES, including all the born-again Church! We desperately need this passion presently, right NOW.
• Awake the church, Lord, rain upon the Church, Lord, SHAKE UP the Church, and even rebuke the Church! IT IS TIME TO AWAKE TO RIGHTEOUSNESS!! We must at ONCE AWAKE to the URGENCY of the hour which mercifully still provides the opportunity for us right now to cry out to the Lord for God’s refreshing rain!
• Together, across the board, we, as the Church pray, Lord, that you would pour the CRY and the HUNGER and the PASSION and the BURDEN into our hearts for a new refreshing shower of the rain of God’s Spirit. In fact, we PLEAD with you, Lord, to help us collectively across all Christian denominations, even from church to church. Start with us, Lord, right here in the United States of America. Besides, America is the place where you have promised to start the great last-day outpouring of your FIRE and GLORY!
• I pray for everyone who reads this message. Lord, just reach down and place this message in our hearts. Shake us up, Lord, until we come alive and pour all YOUR passion into our hearts for the pure prophetic power of a refreshing shower of Holy Spirit RAIN. We need this so desperately, Lord. We need a deluge that would cover America from shore to shore in Jesus’ name. The time is NOW. Grab ahold of God, people; do it NOW! Let’s cry out to the Lord, as we cry for a new refreshing rain shower, a truly NEW outpouring from the Lord in heaven. Please do it now, Lord, in Jesus’ name! AMEN!
