Have You Heard About the GREAT Comforter!

During his first visit to the city of Ephesus, the Apostle Paul was surprised to find some true Christians in the city. He quickly learned that these Christians were recently born again under the ministry of Apollos.

Paul’s first question to them as believers was this: “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” Paul understood perfectly that the Spirit of God is the Person who recreates the human spirit with the eternal life of Christ’s salvation. The intention of Paul’s question was to determine whether they were actually also baptized in the Holy Spirit, but they were clueless.

Therefore, Paul took a few minutes to teach these new believers in Ephesus regarding the experience of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Once they understood what this additional experience for salvation was all about, the Ephesian Christians were excited! Paul promptly laid his hands on them, and they were baptized in the power of Holy Spirit, speaking with other tongues and prophesying (Acts 19:1-6)!

Growing up as a child, I was graciously born again at age seven, fully receiving the Lord’s salvation. I lived for the Lord with great excitement and joy! When I was seventeen, my brother befriended some school children who belonged to a powerful Pentecostal church in the region. Discussions about speaking in tongues were frequently the order of the day. Due to my commitments at school and many sporting activities, I never really found the time to get involved in all the Holy Spirit discussions. But it did spark my interest, and the question of tongues kind of hovered in the back of my mind, particularly since my senior year in high school. The wonderful secondary experience to salvation—the baptism of the Holy Spirit—finally became my own in October 1979!
The situation with Paul and the Christians in Ephesus, as recorded in Acts 19, is not something that is unique or rare. After I was baptized with the Spirit, I began to ask around to all Christians I would meet whether they too had received the experience of the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
Most of the time, I received the same response that the Apostle Paul received in Ephesus. “What do you mean Holy Spirit,” people would say, and “what is the baptism in the Spirit? And why should we speak in tongues?” However once we got past the wonderful issue of baptism in the Holy Spirit, I would raise my number one Holy Spirit question. I would point out John 14-17 to Christians and pertinently ask them if they have a personal friendship relationship with the Person of God’s Holy Spirit. Their response would always be the same. “I don’t need any personal relationship with Holy Spirit because I already have Jesus in my heart.”
“JESUS IN MY HEART” is the biggest, most powerful LIE of deception successfully sold by the devil to the Church for over 2,000 years. Indeed, this deception is always swallowed right away—hook, line, and sinker—by all new believers! The deceptive power of the LIE about Jesus being in our hearts has robbed millions of Christians of everything God wants to give to them as His born-again children. The time period between the resurrection of Jesus and His return for His Church is known as the Age of Grace and Salvation. It is also known as the Church Age. This is the season when the kingdom of God operates, “not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit.” Holy Spirit is the sole Governor of everything that God performs in the earth, until the soon return of Jesus.
From the book of Matthew to the book of Revelation, there are exactly 22 verses of scripture clearly stating in plain, simple words that the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ resides in heaven, where He is seated at the right hand of the Father. Jesus is God, the second Person of God, called the Person of the Word, yet simultaneously, He resides in a male human body. Jesus’ human body is a resurrected, glorified, and spiritual body. One time after His resurrection, when He suddenly appeared to the disciples, they were shocked because He entered through a locked door! They thought He was a ghost. However, Jesus quickly calmed them down and said, “Be not afraid; it is I, TOUCH ME, for a Spirit does not have FLESH and BONES, as I do.”
Here we see and NOW EXPOSE the POWER of deception regarding Jesus’ Person. How ridiculously absurd is it that millions of Christians all around the world believe that Jesus, in His resurrected BODY of FLESH and BONE, can multiply Himself into millions of Jesus’ and somehow physically jump through their chest—body and all, right into their human spirits! How absolutely insane is this kind of deceptive thinking?
The Spirit of the Lord is able to do something we can never understand, which is to “multiply Himself” and personally come to live within the human spirit of every born-again believer. As such, Holy Spirit in Person possesses, among many other great gifts, the ability to exhibit the OMNIPRESENCE of His Person. Holy Spirit, therefore, demonstrates His omnipresence throughout the existence of all creation, and the best part of His omnipresence is that He takes up personal residence inside the born-again human spirit of every believer. Understanding Holy Spirit’s omnipresence now makes sense in John 16:7, where Jesus told the disciples that Holy Spirit in Person replacing the Lord Jesus in Person is actually an advantage for the disciples.
Imagine this: How in the world could Holy Spirit substituting Jesus be better for the disciples? For the simple reason that Holy Spirit in PERSON would not only be WITH the disciples but rather He would live WITHIN them, inside their truly born-again person of their eternal human spirit! As such, all believers receive both the omnipresence of Holy Spirit around us, as well as His personal Presence within our hearts. Holy Spirit is the Person of God who is literally EVERYWHERE, ALL THE TIME—FOREVER!
- - Have you heard of God’s Holy Spirit and that He is the GREAT Comforter?
  - Has anybody ever told you about Him?
  - Has anyone ever encouraged you to talk to the great Comforter, who IS the Person of the Spirit of the Lord?
  - Have you ever somehow heard something about Him? Perhaps just one thing?
  - Have you heard about the GREAT Comforter who personally lives deep inside your spirit?
I often experience such heartbreaking sadness in my heart when I think about Christians and the Lord, Holy Spirit. Jesus’ message preached to His disciples is clearly recorded for us throughout John 14-17. It is BIG, prominent, and powerful, filling four powerful chapters in the gospel of John. But the truth about it is so different. Very seldom or ever would you hear a preacher or pastor get up on Sunday and say to the Church, “People of God, have you heard about the great Comforter? Have you heard that He is the Person of the Spirit of God? Do you know that in the fullness of His Person, He is able to live personally in unison with your recreated human spirit?” The Apostle Paul put it this way in 1 Corinthians 6:17, saying, “but he that is joined to the Lord (Holy Spirit) is one spirit (with the Lord).”

GOLD & GLORY FLASHPOINT 2:

There is a miraculous process of unification that takes place between Holy Spirit and our born-again human spirit when we first get saved. In a mysterious way, Holy Spirit is able to unite His own Self (His Spirit Person) with your true self (your human spirit). In this life, it will always be impossible for us to even begin to understand the mystery of two spirit beings (Holy Spirit and human spirit) perfectly amalgamating into one living entity: of Holy Spirit and human spirit. This mystery will greatly and miraculously unfold throughout all its levels of revelation and throughout our eternal future with God, forever. The endless levels of revelation of our oneness with Holy Spirit is like turning the pages in a never-ending book. Every new page represents a new level of the great mystery of this bond of togetherness between human spirit and Holy Spirit.
Now, we are just beginning to touch the GLORY of this GREAT MYSTERY of HOLY SPIRIT coming to abide within the born-again human spirit of every child of God. This supernatural residency of Holy Spirit in our spirit is FOREVER—even throughout ALL eternity! Through the miraculous gifting of His omnipresence, Holy Spirit will manifest Himself within and through us for all eternity. His omnipresence will also simultaneously fill the entire universe, forever. Jesus and all His saints will occupy the new earth, while Father God will occupy the new heaven. Again, Holy Spirit will manifest all of God’s Presence everywhere and will fill the entire universe with God’s GLORY!! I like what Brother Benny Hinn said one time about Holy Spirit. He said, “Holy Spirit does not dwell in the universe; the universe dwells in Holy Spirit.” Thinking this way helps us understand the universal omnipresence of Holy Spirit throughout all creation.
How painful it is to think about probably millions of Christians around the world who have never heard about Holy Spirit and what He offers us as believers. Think about it. These Christians are also God’s children, but they have JUST NEVER, EVER HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT HOLY SPIRIT! The only Christian life that is taught to literally millions of Christians around the world is the “life of antichrist Christianity,” a lifestyle that is VOID of any contact or fellowship with God’s Holy Spirit who lives within their spirit. Since they are in total deception, they are STILL trying to find Jesus everywhere, every day.
Would you agree with me if I say this has to be the saddest thing that is happening in the Church around the world? Oh my God, what sadness! There is only one thing worse than believers not hearing about Holy Spirit, and that is for lost people to never hear about Jesus and His eternal salvation.
But for us as believers, there is still something that is more heartbreaking than having never heard about the Great Comforter. The worst and most painful reality in every believer’s life is not concerning those who have not heard about Holy Spirit. Through the years, many Christians sat under Holy Spirit teaching by Katherine Kuhlman, Benny Hinn, Kenneth Hagin, and perhaps only a few other ministers, including myself. Regardless of these Christians receiving the greatest Holy Spirit teachings, many of them never found the hunger to reach out to the great Comforter who was personally offered to them in every one of those teaching sessions. When God gives us His very best, how is it possible that some of His children allowed themselves to just walk away? Really? No response ever!

I thank you, Lord, for every person that I had the opportunity to introduce to the great Comforter, and that many of them chose personal friendship and fellowship with You, Holy Spirit. I thank you, Holy Spirit, for every believer who has ever embraced You, as the great Comforter, and the minister of eternal LIFE, including all the things about Jesus and our Father God.
